It has finally come to this. Pat Anders and I have finally jumped into a sea of stereotypical writing. We got into Journalism to reach people through our words. We wanted them to hold their hearts and wipe their tears as they read our real life stories. The words were supposed to jump off the page and smack them in the face to wake up, punch them in their brains to understand or shock their hearts to feel. We were going to change the world, but the world had changed before we came into it.
Now in a tailspin of job rejections and roads to nowhere, we find ourselves here in one of the most pathetic excuses for writing; the blog. Here is where rumors become fact, the mouse clicker a reporter, the average idiot a writer and the news a disgrace.
While blogs were hitting their peak, we were too busy getting degrees in Journalism. Now everyone is a Journalist. From the scumbag who promotes Nazi propaganda to the high school kid who steals sports rumors from other websites. They are all now considered Journalists.
No longer are credentials needed to write stories or get interviews. No longer is reporting or facts needed as well. If that is what you want, America, then that is what you will get. Pat and I are late to the party, but you better believe we will be the last ones there hitting on your sister and doing kegstands. Thanks for the invite, America. We are now here.
